Daddy's home!

Chad is home.... let's all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Although Chad normally travels pretty often for his job, he did not go out of town most of the spring and summer. It seems like he has made up for that in the last 6 weeks- back to back long TDYs and this week-long trip to the Drummer's Collective in New York City. (I will post his NY pictures soon.) It was strange having him so far away! Abbey really missed him this time and asked about him a lot. We put a sticker on her calendar every night so she could see how many more days until he got home. We let her stay up a little late last night so they could catch up on their play time. Elliott is totally happy with Mommy all the time, but stared and stared at Chad when he came in, and later had fun playing with his fuzzy beard and crazy hair (proof he was on a civilian trip- ha!). Separations and reunions are a normal part of our lives... though sometimes I wish Chad had a "normal" job that didn't involve travel, these special "Daddy's home!" moments make up for missing each other. (I'm not sure whether or not it makes up for a few nights of dealing with both kids awake at 3 AM.)

You seem very familiar...

Doctor Abbey and Nurse Chad give Patient Elliott a pre-bedtime check up. (Sorry for the blurry picture, they were just too funny.)
