Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch...

...the cows were eagerly awaiting our arrival.

Just kidding, Pappaw Bill was waiting for us. The cows were just waiting for him to fire up his Rhino (see below) and bring them some dinner!

We had a good visit with Chad's dad, Pappaw Bill. He had worked on his house quite a bit since our last visit, and we really appreciated having a separate room for the girls.

Chad, Elliott, Bethany, Bill, and Abbey (with Tulip the horse and Daffodil the cow)

December 2008

Abbey especially enjoyed this visit. She is old enough to "help" with a lot of things, like putting out hay for the cows, delivering their other food, and visiting the feed store. Go here for pictures from last year's visit.

Yes, that is my daughter on a John Deere tractor.

Riding in the Rhino. (Actually Elliott didn't.)

I'm pretty sure we were the only people picking up cow food in a Subaru with two car seats.
A funny feed store story: We were deep in deer hunting country, and of course they sell "deer corn" at the feed store. It is labeled with a lovely drawing of a deer skull with antlers. Abbey saw it and said, "Look, food for your moose!" I didn't break her heart by telling her the truth.
It was a good visit and a great way to end 2008.

Lol, those mice need lots of food! :) Hehe, that looked like a lot of fun - nothing says Texas like the smell of cows... ;)

Er...I meant Moose(es?), not Mice...

It's Friday and I'm tired, what more do you want from me! Lol!

That's cute :) The farm makes it look a lot like SD!

Looks like a fun trip! The deer corn story cracked me up. Abbey hasn't seen Bambi yet, has she? That movie made me CRY! And probably still would today. :)
