Monkeys Escape From Zoo

Did you hear about the rare pink-hatted monkeys that escaped from their cages? They ran amok through the zoo, climbing on things and demanding snacks! Here is photographic evidence.


Oh wait... those are just my children. Last week we met my friend Sarah and her two kids at the zoo and had a nice morning. I wish we had a picture of all of us, but with four young children, three of them under age two, it sort of slipped our minds. Abbey had been asking to go to the zoo ever since she saw a billboard announcing some new black leopards there.

Not the greatest picture, but it was beautiful! You can actually see black spots on its black fur, they are not solid black.

Sarah noticed on the zoo map that there were "animal encounters" at a certain time. We showed up at the right place, expecting lots of other zoo-goers, but had zookeeper (is that what they are called?) all to ourselves. She showed us this tenrec, a small hedgehog-like animal from Madagascar. Cute!

It was a fun morning and we will have to go back soon before it is too hot to do anything outside!
