Working at the dog wash

This is our pug, Chico. He is cute and sweet, but he often stinks.

Chico at Halloween '04. No, he is not usually dressed as a pumpkin.

And we are bad about giving him baths because it's a pain, and then you have to clean the bathroom afterwards, and the house smells like wet dog, which is just as bad as stinky dog. But grooming appointments on base are hard to come by and expensive. So what's a dog to do? Answer: Go to the automatic dog wash! There is a shopping center nearby called Joyful Honda (don't be fooled! It's not a Honda dealership!) that has a pet store complete with grooming "salon" and do it yourself dog washing machine. So off we all went. Chico got washed, shampooed, and blow-dried in the "box" (as Abbey called it). He was a little freaked out, but all was forgotten when we gave him treats afterward, and he's never been so clean! I don't know if these things are available in the US, but we were sold.

Abbey is concerned about Chico. She enjoyed picking out some special post-bath treats for him.

Look at that handsome boy!
