The first thing we did at Wonder World was take a mini train ride through their animal exhibit. This was an example of over-hyping an attraction on their website. Though there were a few interesting animals and we stopped to feed the deer by hand, it was pretty lame. But that's okay because we were going to tour a real CAVE!
Feeding the deer
We waited in the gift shop for the cave tour to begin. Elliott had mentioned that her tummy hurt, but had eaten breakfast and lunch just fine, so I chalked it up to gas... Until we were just about to start walking down the steps into the cave and she got "the look" in her eyes. I grabbed her sunhat off her head and held it for her to empty the contents of her stomach into. Poor girl! She got sick again in the gift shop, and the restroom, and the parking lot. There really wasn't anything to do but clean her up and have her rest in the car, since Chad and Abbey had already started the cave tour. They had a good time. Abbey found it all interesting and not scary, and completely vomit-free.

Don't lean forward!

They also did the other park attractions, including a tall observation tower (they could see me and Elliott in the car) and an "anti-gravity" house. Here they are being all topsy turvy!
Of course we skipped our other stop on the way home- no paddle boats, playground or swimming for us. So sad! We did at least stop at Buc-ee's to console ourselves with kolaches, caramel popcorn and cake balls (we kept one in the fridge for Elliott until she was better). Elliott spent the rest of the weekend taking it easy and was able to be there for all the school fun the next week. Here's to another memorable, but less messy, Family Fun Day soon!

So funny that you mentioned Buc-ee's! We have a billboard up here advertising their 60 pump gas station in New Braunfels. Every time I see it I think, sure let me make that quick 4 hour drive to see your fancy station! :-)
