But seriously, we visited Dinosaur World in Glen Rose. Abbey and Elliott had been on a "Dinosaur Train" kick for quite a while (it's a show about dinosaurs on PBS), so we decided to go check it out. It was just as educational as watching a season of Dinosaur Train, without the annoying conductor! (If you have ever watched this show you know what I mean!)
The statues are very accurate, other than of course who knows what color they were, which Abbey reminded us. It took us about an hour to walk through the park and look at all the dinosaurs and read a little bit about them. Abbey really enjoyed it. Elliott was hot, and getting hungry, and hot, and wanted everyone to know SHE WAS HOT. But we made it- no one passed out from heat exhaustion or was eaten by a velociraptor.
Remember how scary these guys were in Jurassic Park?
After lunch and a few minutes on the playground, the girls were excited to check out the fossil dig. Each child got a sifter and a cup and 15 minutes to dig for tiny fossils and other treasures. They got to choose three to keep. They were both happy with their finds, which included a piece of amber, some small fossils and a shark's tooth.

We also walked through the small museum there and saw some fossils and replica dinosaur skeletons. Abbey was not satisfied with the various possible explanations of what happened to the dinosaurs, she wanted facts! Her quest for knowledge did not prevent her from choosing a highly inaccurate glow-in-the-dark triceratops in the gift shop. :0)
We all had a good time at Dinosaur World, and even learned some things!

After reading your post to Kaitlyn Joy and seeing all the pictures she said, "How about we go there today!" Ummm... it's raining. I am going to google search it though. It looks pretty cool.
